Short Bio

Jannik Hartmann joined DGAP in January 2023. Since July 2024, he is an associate fellow in its Center for Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, and Technology. Previously, he worked as a project assistant in DGAP’s “Action Group Zeitenwende,” dealing with the implementation and implications of the sea change in German policy proclaimed by Chancellor Olaf Scholz in late February 2022. Hartmann’s research focuses on critical infrastructure and how it can be better equipped to meet today’s evolving threats and standards.

Hartmann studied economics and business administration at Fulda University of Applied Sciences and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia. He is currently continuing his academic path at Sciences Po in Paris in the master’s program in international security.
