Short Bio

Andreas Goldthau, a senior associate fellow in DGAP’s Center for Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, and Technology, is director of the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy and Franz Haniel Professor for Public Policy at the University of Erfurt’s Faculty of Economics, Law, and Social Sciences. He is also research group leader at the Research Institute for Sustainability – Helmholtz Center Potsdam. His interests are in energy geoeconomics and the international political economy of the clean transition.
 
Previously, Goldthau was professor in international relations at Royal Holloway College, University of London; professor at Central European University’s School of Public Policy; Marie Curie Senior Fellow with the Belfer Center at Harvard Kennedy School; and an adjunct professor with John Hopkins‘ master’s program in energy policy and climate. He also held postdoctoral appointments at the Paul Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University, the RAND Corporation, and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs.
