Kurzbiografie

Dr. Stefan Meister ist Leiter des Zentrums für Ordnung und Governance in Osteuropa, Russland und Zentralasien.

Davor war er Direktor des Südkaukasus Büros der Heinrich Böll Stiftung in Tbilisi (2019-21). Er war davor bei der DGAP Leiter des Robert Bosch-Zentrums für Mittel- und Osteuropa, Russland und Zentralasien (2017-19) und Programmleiter für Osteuropa, Russland und Zentralasien sowie Senior Policy Fellow im Wider Europe Team des European Council on Foreign Relations (2013/14). Meister war mehrfach Wahlbeobachter für die OSZE und die EU in postsowjetischen Ländern. Als Fellow an der Transatlantic Academy in Washington D.C. (2015/16) hat er zu russischer Desinformation gearbeitet.

Stefan Meister promovierte zum Thema „Transformation des russischen Wissenschafts- und Hochschulwesens“ (2007) und hat Politikwissenschaft und Osteuropäische Geschichte an den Universitäten Jena, Leipzig und Nischnij Novgorod studiert. Er publizierte als Ko-Autor die Bücher „The Eastern Question” (2016), “The Eastern Voices” (2017) and “The Russia File” (2018) alle bei Brookings press. 2019 war er Mitherausgeber des Buches “Geo-politics and security. A new strategy for the South Caucasus”.
