If Germany wants to assert itself in the midst of a fragile West, it needs more courage and determination in all areas of its own foreign policy.

For too long, there has been a misconception that Germany has to choose between either a “value-oriented” or an “interest-driven” foreign policy.

Like Russia's attack on Ukraine, the escalation in the Middle East is part of a global geopolitical transformation for which there is not yet a term. It certainly reveals the Western failure in the region.
